Wondering about cookware…

From time to time, I wonder if others have in their kitchen cabinets a modge podge of pots and pans like the ones I have.  When I was younger, I tried the nice sets of pots and pans sold in the stores and tv shopping shows that all matched.  It never felt right to me.  My mom did and my sister does have the modge podge thing going on.  I like it better that way.  If I see a skillet or pot that strikes my fancy, I buy it.  I have some Rachel Ray, Emeril, T-Fal, Cuisinart, Belgique and a brand or two more in my pots and pans drawer.  Each one serves a purpose.  Some are stainless steel, some with copper bottoms and some are non-stick.  There is nothing wrong with the all matching sets, I am just not that kind of girl.    I am just wondering if all of your cookware matches?  Leave a comment if you get a chance and let me know.  Perhaps it will start a new conversation with family and friends!  Thanks.

i finally found a can opener…

yes, it is true.  i know that i have not mentioned this before, but it has been an on going problem for a while now.  i wanted an opener that was small and cordless while using it.  i had one that was an “as seen on tv”, battery operated and it worked well on small cans, but putting a can larger than a 15 oz. vegetable can to it was a problem.  a large can finally did it in.  so, my husband and i went searching.  he kept telling me to just get a crank opener or one that sits on the counter.  neither option was suitable. i found one in walmart that is made by hamilton beach and it is perfect!  it is small and powerful.  it opens small tomato paste cans with ease, as well as, the big commercial cans!  it sits in an inconspicious spot and charges until it is called to duty once more.  i am in love.  it cost $19.98 + tax and was well worth it.  so, if you are in the market for a new can opener try the one i bought.  you may be in love too!
